Iraq Investment and Reconstruction Task Force
The Iraq Investment and Reconstruction Task Force within the International Trade Administration, part of the U.S. Commerce Department, was created in Spring 2003 to help U.S. companies participate in the economic rebuilding of Iraq. The task force and its Web site serve as clearinghouses of information for U.S. companies interested in Iraq. The task force works closely with the Coalition Provisional Authority in Iraq, other U.S. government agencies, and international organizations to provide U.S. companies with the latest information on the commercial environment in Iraq and potential reconstruction business opportunities. Market Access and Compliance
Keeping foreign markets open to American businesses and workers is the top priority of the U.S. Commerce Department's Market Access and Compliance office. MAC provides assistance to U.S. exporters that encounter trade barriers or exporting problems caused by foreign governments. Automated Commercial Environment
The U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) modernization effort began in 2001 with the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) and the International


Trade Data System (ITDS) programs focusing on cargo import and export operations. The ACE and ITDS form one system providing a "single screen" for the international business community to interact with CBP and all government agencies on import/export requirements.
