Arch Chemicals Completes Acquisition of British Company
Arch Chemicals Inc. based in Norwalk, has completed the acquisition of the Biocides business of Avecia, a British company comprised of a Pool & Spa business and a Protection & Hygiene business. Included in the acquisition are manufacturing centers located in the United Kingdom, with additional toll manufacturing and customer support capabilities worldwide.

EMCOR Group Awarded Major Energy-Related Projects in Canada
Norwalk-based EMCOR Group Inc. announced that its Energy & Technologies business had been awarded contracts for power and energy related projects from several private businesses and public sector entities in Canada, including Morongo Casino, Great Lakes Power Limited and Syncrude Canada Limited. EMCOR is a worldwide leader in mechanical and electrical construction services and facilities services.

Imagistics International Acquires Canadian Business Systems
Imagistics International Inc., an international direct sales, and service imaging solutions company based in Trumbull, has acquired the assets of the Canadian Business Systems and Office Solutions Group, a combined business based in Mississauga, a suburb of Toronto, Canada.

NYFIX Announces European Market Developments
Stamford-based NYFIX Inc., a leader in technology solutions for the financial marketplace, recently announced plans to acquire Eurolink Network Inc., in which the company previously had a 40% ownership interest. In addition, the company reported that it has opened two new European data centers, based in London and Amsterdam.

Caracol Selects Panamsat Satellites
PanAmSat Corp., based in Wilton, recently announced that Caracol Televisi—n S.A, the leading broadcaster in Colombia, has chosen PanAmSat's PAS-9 Atlantic Ocean Region satellite to distribute its global programming under the brand name Caracol TV Internacional throughout South America and Europe as well as Galaxy 13, the company's newest satellite, for delivery to North America. PanAmSat is one of the world's top three satellite operators managing a global fleet of 30 satellites.

Praxair and Blue Rhino in Agreement for Tank Exchange Program in Canada
Praxair Inc., based in Danbury, recently announced that Praxair Canada Inc. and Blue Rhino Corp. have signed an agreement for Praxair to supply Blue Rhino propane tank exchange services at major third-party retail locations throughout Quebec, Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia, Canada. Praxair will act as Blue Rhino's exclusive independent distributor providing filling and distribution services across all six provinces.

Rogers Corporation Appoints Vice President for Asia
Rogers Corp., based in Rogers, Conn., announced that Michael L. Cooper, currently vice president and chief information officer, will become vice president, Asia. He will be responsible for all manufacturing and staff functions at Rogers' manufacturing facilities located in Suzhou, China, as well as coordination with a joint venture in Japan, Rogers Inoac Corp.

Otis Wins $25 million in Contracts for Australian Projects
Otis Elevator, a UTC subsidiary base in Farmington, has won contracts totaling more than U.S. $25 million (AUD 35 million) to supply and install 33 elevators, including high-speed Elevonic systems, in the KENS commercial office tower development project in Sydney and 26 elevators and escalators for the Brisbane Square office tower in Brisbane.

Xerox Expands Resources to Help Print Professionals
At drupa 2004 in D†SSELDORF, Germany-the once-every-four-years Olympics of the print world-Stamford-based Xerox Corp. unveiled its Profit Accelerator portfolio, a customer resource program with two new tools to help customers grow their business and succeed at digital printing. Xerox is expanding its tools in Profit Accelerator to educate graphic designers on the benefits of digital printing and to help print providers leverage their digital production equipment.

ThinkGlobal Receives Export Appreciation Award
ThinkGlobal Inc., publisher of the ThinkGlobal Connecticut International Trade Newsfolio, received an export appreciation award from the U.S. Commerce Department during a World Trade Week conference in New York.
